I'm often asked what products I personally use with clients & my own dog, so I created this page for you. Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission if you love something as much as I do... but I only recommend what I actually use myself!
Below are 3 companies that I personally use for my own dog's gear, and often recommend to clients! I'm sharing the discount codes I have for each :)
I've personally used the Summit All-Terrain harness with my own dog for years & recommend it to clients! It's durable, multi-adjustable, and fits comfortably. Rocky Mountain Dog is also a fellow Canadian company!
(Is your dog scared of wearing a harness? Fix Harness Fear with THIS Step-by-Step Harness Conditioning Guide)
I highly recommend a hands-free leash during training so that your dog remains safely tethered to you even if you drop the leash! Biothane is amazing because it's lightweight, very strong, and easy to clean. I love both HighTail Hikes for longer leashes, or Rocky Mountain Dog for ones made in Canada!
I recommend Tug-E-Nuff dog toys all the time because they're durable and they really consider what factors will satisfy your dog (see my note about prey drive later on this page).
A comprehensive program to stop pulling on leash and make walks enjoyable! This program will teach you all the skills required for dream walks and how to setup successful training in the real world.
A fun, rewards-based solution for dog prey drive that still satisfies your dog’s instincts. With step-by-step directions, you’ll learn how to stop unwanted chasing while also strengthening your bond with your dog.
The treat pouch and dog treats I personally use for training
I've used this pouch for the last 3 years and love it. I prefer "purse style" bags, so this is perfect. It has 2 seperate treat sections, so you can divide high and very high value rewards for better training results. It's also large enough to hold my phone, keys, poop bags and more!
I personally feed my dog Sojo's Complete dog food, and I also love their training treats! They come in single meat options, so they're perfect for my clients with allergies.
These are AMAZING. Every dog I've trained is obsessed with them. And huge perk? You can get their nib size "entree" version which is actually dog food, so you can use your dogs meal as training rewards without overfeeding.
As mentioned in STOP CHASING! toys can be used as both effective functional rewards and as replacement outlets for prey drive.
As mentioned in "Stop Chasing", toys can be used as both effective functional rewards and as replacement outlets.
Why do I love the following toys and use them as training tools?
Because they help satisfy the dog's prey drive instincts!
Remember: prey drive is a natural instinct your dog wants to fulfil upon spotting an animal. A functional reward during prey drive training is anything that satisfies that instinct, therefore meeting the dog’s needs in that moment.

Part of raising a happy & healthy dog is allowing them to engage in their natural behaviours such as chasing, playing, sniffing, chewing, and scavenging. Offering opportunities to do these behaviours helps your dog be physically, emotionally, and mentally satisfied.

Chase games are fantastic for satisfying the urge to stalk, chase and grab-bite! Any chaser toy is great, but here are 4 of my dogs favourites!
